Discover Landelies,
a village with authentic charm

Nestled on the left bank of the Sambre, this peaceful municipality is surrounded by a limestone plateau to the west and bordered by the tranquil waters of the Sambre to the east and south, offering unique natural landscapes.

 

Historic Lock No. 9
Built in 1828 during the Dutch period, this engineering gem testifies to the rich river past of Landelies.

 

Saint Martin's Church
Classified as part of Walloon heritage, this church is a must-see for history and architecture enthusiasts.

 

The marina
Managed by the Haute Sambre Yacht Club, the port of Landelies is an invitation to relax by the water.

The house enjoys an idyllic setting on the banks of the Upper Sambre RAVeL, offering direct access to a wide range of outdoor activities to suit every taste. Here is an overview of the options available:

 

Getting around

  • By car: Enjoy the scenic roads that wind through the surrounding countryside and discover the region's charming villages and historic sites, such as Thuin and Aulne Abbey. A drive lets you cover more ground while exploring the rolling landscapes and nearby forests.

  • By bike or mountain bike: The Upper Sambre RAVeL is a true paradise for cyclists. Whether you enjoy a leisurely ride or prefer more adventurous mountain biking, this safe and well-maintained trail lets you explore the area with complete peace of mind. Discover the villages along the Sambre, with must-see stops at Aulne Abbey and Thuin, where you can explore the rich local heritage.

  • On foot: For walkers, the many trails crossing the countryside and forests offer a variety of outings, from gentle strolls along the towpath to more challenging hikes through the woods. It's the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the peace and quiet of the surroundings.

Climbing the Landelies rocks

  • Just a few minutes' walk from the house are the Landelies rocks, renowned as one of the finest climbing cliffs in Belgium. The site offers routes for all levels, up to 7a, making it ideal for climbers, whether beginners or experienced. The panoramic views from the top are well worth the climb.

Fishing on the Sambre

  • The Sambre is a river much loved by anglers. Whether you prefer fishing from the bank or heading out in a small boat, the Sambre offers the chance to catch a variety of fish species in a peaceful, relaxing setting.

Boating on the Sambre

  • The Sambre is also a great place for boating. The Landelies marina welcomes boats of all sizes, and you can also enjoy a mini-cruise aboard the Gavroche barge. For a more intimate experience, the small electric boats available near Aulne Abbey are perfect for a gentle trip on the water.
